NW Remote Deposit

Deposit checks from your desk.

Why rush to the bank with your deposits when you can handle it from your desk? Using NW Remote Deposit you can scan and submit your checks electronically and receive same-day credit on all deposits processed by 4 p.m.

The process takes about four seconds per check.

Here's how it works: Northwest Bank will deliver, set up and help you program your state-of-the-art RDM 7000 Check Scanner. The bank will also provide you access to a secure website for creation of your electronic deposits.

Every day you'll scan your checks for deposit, then access the secure website to release those scanned deposits to the bank. An electronic deposit ticket is generated at the bank, along with printed Check 21 permissible Image Replacement Documents (IRDs) to replace the actual checks you have scanned. These IRDs are then forwarded for processing to the Federal Reserve. You keep your original checks, ie. the ones you scanned, for 60 days, then destroy them.

What is Check 21? Simply the short name for the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act, a new federal law that streamlines check processing. The law allows checks to be scanned, transmitted and cleared electronically.
